청자이야기3편 -
온갖 기교를 다 동원한 칠보무늬향로
The Seven Treasure Incense Burner that modilized all the techical skills.
청자의 원조는 중국이다 .
Celadon originally was from China.
중국사람들은 옥은 군자를 상징하고 부귀와 죽은 후의 내세를 보장해준다고 믿었다
The Chinese believe that jade represents the treasure of wealth
in the next life after death.
옥을 갖고 싶어했으나 옥은 그 생산량이 한정되어 그 가격이 매우 비쌀 수 밖에 없었다.
Although everyone wants to have a piece of jade
the amount of it was limited therefore it was very expsenive.
유럽인들이 금속에서 금을 만들려고 애쓰듯이 중국사람들은 흙으로 옥을 만들려고 애썼다.
The European tried very hard to make gold from metals
and the Chinese also to put lots of effort to make jade from the soil.
중국사람들이 어느 날 가마 안에서 소나무를 고온으로 불을 태웠더니
그 재가 가라 앉으면서 푸른 빛을 띠는 물질이 생기는 것을 발견하고는
그것을 더욱 발전시켜 만들어 낸것이 청자이다
One day the Chinese discovered that when the pine tree was burned under high temperature,the ashes calmed and some kind of material was carrying blue lights.
After the material was further developed it comes what is now the Celadon
외국인들도 감탄하는 청자투각칠보무늬향로는 세부분으로 되어 있다
The Seven Treasure Incense Burner gives another admirmation to the foreignors.
맨 위에 얹혀진 뚜껑은 향연기가 빠져나가는 구멍이 송송난 지구본 같고
This is a piece of art work with the very top port is sitting with cap with holes is
where incense came out from, which is like the Earth with many small pieces.
가운데 향태우는 몸체는 연꽃 잎이 돌출되어 세겹으로 둘러 쌓여 있고
The middle part that was made like a blossoming flower is the where
the incense is burned.
맨 아래는 토끼 세마리가 대좌를 받들고 있는 예술작품이다 .
The very bottom part is 3 rabbits facing out holding the burnner.
길상도안인 동그라미를 연속으로 이어간 칠보무늬는 투각형태로 되었고
The Ring with the Lucky Star figure created the Seven Treasure pattern
and was made in bratticed shape.
칠보무늬가 교차되는 지점에는 하얀 점을 상감으로 새겨 놓았다.
A inlaid white dot was craved on the point where each crossing pattern meets.
가운데 둥그렇게 두른 연꽃잎은 튀어나오듯이 첩화로 붙여 놓았다.
The body was surounded and declarated with the pattern of a popped out
blossoming petals.
음각,양각, 투각, 상감, 첩화 등 온갖 다양한 기법으로 모두 표현하였다 .
This piece of art shows a varity of different kinds of sculpting skills
such as intagilo, embossment, bratticing, inlaid works, etc.
피겨스케이팅에서도 가장 점수를 많이 받으려면 고난도 기술을 발휘해야 한다.
In a figure skating competition in order to receive a high score
the skater must show the most difficult skills to the judges.
칠보무늬 향로야 말로 고난도의 모든 청자기술이 총망라 되어 있다.
So as this Seven Treasure Incense Burner has included all the most
difficult techiques in the Celadon make skills.
시선이 머무는 곳은 역시 가여운 토끼 세마리의 앙증맞은 모습이다.
The part that attracts our sights is the figure of the 3 lovely rabbits.
향로를 하루 종일 받들고 있으니 얼마나 무겁고 힘들까?
How strenous it would be to hold up the heavy incense burner all day~
옥토끼들이 까만 눈동자를 깜빡거리며 말한다 .
The jade rabbits glimmered with their black pupil.
정말로 무겁고 힘드네요~~~
It really seems heavy and strenuous~~~
늘 사진으로만 감상하였기에 크기가 다른 청자보다 큰 것으로 생각했는데
When looking at this photo it feels like this Celadon is much bigger then other Celadons.
국립박물관에서 자세히 살펴 보았더니 의의로 크기가 작아서 깜짝 놀랐다 .
But when examining it in the National Museum I was surprised that
how small the actual celadon is.
아주 정교하고 만들어졌으나 높이는 15.3 센티 정도이니 정말 조그맣다.
Though it is delicately made its height is only 15.3cm, which is really tiny.
또 한가지 놀랜 것은 연꽃잎 하나가 윗부분이 부러져 있어서 안타까왔다 .
Another surprise was the upper part of one of the petals was broken.
How pity~!
